Bodhrán
A one-sided drum, the
bodhrán is usually made from goatskin stretched over
a wooden frame and can be played with the hand or a stick
of varying dimensions.
It gets it's name from the
Irish for 'deafener', and, in the
wrong hands, can be exactly that.
In the right hands, however,
the bodhrán is an important rhythm
accompaniment with a suprising range of pitch and
timbre.
